GIVING TO CCEUC

As a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, CCEUC relies on funding from core county dollars, federal, state and local foundation grants, and donations from individuals.  Please consider making a donation today to extend the programs CCEUC provides to the community.
Many of the programs and services of CCEUC help Ulster County residents with gardening, consumer and nutrition, agriculture, and environmental concerns.  From youth programs, to preserving watersheds, to providing up-to-date agricultural information to local farmers, to helping families with household budgeting, CCEUC reaches out across the entire county as a resource to residents.  But, we desperately need your help to continue fulfilling our mission to youth, adults, families, and local communities.

We need your donation today!

Your gift to CCEUC will allow us to continue to provide valuable educational and outreach programs, reaching even more people in Ulster County.

- In 2009, 40 teens participated in the 4-H Veterinary Science Program. This program combined non-formal education process, hands-on, and inquiry-based learning in a youth development context. This very successful annual program increases literacy and engages the youth in improving their knowledge, skills, and abilities in science, engineering, and technology.

- The 2009 growing season was a challenging one for fruit growers in New York State. Our Regional Fruit Program provided 105 grower alert messages to over 200 commercial growers and Extension research staff located throughout the Hudson Valley and in 3 other North Eastern States.

- A Watershed Advisory Council of 37 members formed for the Ashokan Reservoir Watershed, expanding the Ashokan Basin Stream Management Plans coverage from the Esopus Creek to the streams in the Ashokan Watershed. Working groups were established for Flooding and erosion, riparian and aquatic ecosystem enhancement, stream based recreation, tourism, highway departments, education and outreach.

- Our Nutrition Education Program’s Eat Smart New York and the Expanded Food and Nutrition Program enrolled a combined number of 334 low income adults in 2009. Of the 334, 206 graduated the nutrition programs, 38 of which were living in a homeless shelter.

- The Relatives as Parents Program (RAPP) held their annual Family Picnic for children being raised by relatives in 2009. The event boasted its highest attendance to date, hosting 40 participants. Every child in attendance received free school supplies to relieve the financial burden on their families for the upcoming school year. This event serves as an intergenerational bonding experience for both adults and children. RAPP has nearly 80 clients currently enrolled.

This is just a sampling of our 2009 successes!  You can see that your donation will be put to good use in delivering our programs throughout the county. With your help, CCEUC will expand its outreach, planting seeds of knowledge through hands-on programming that provides children and adults with new experiences that improve the quality of their lives.
